We believe in & structure our work around the following principles:
- People directly experiencing sexploitation & trafficking must lead the movement to end this system of gender and race-based oppression.
- Survivors should be compensated for sharing their expertise & wisdom with service providers and law enforcement who hold paid staff positions within the anti-trafficking movement.
- Survivors of sexploitation & sex trafficking are not criminals and treating them as such prevents individual recovery and healing as well as the creation of systemic solutions. We must dismantle the dichotomy of "good victim" vs. "bad victim".
- Survivors are not sex workers. Exploiters victimized them, and usually this grew out of early childhoods steeped in systemic violence, racism, and poverty that made a future of exploitation nearly inevitable.
